Cindy Stefanek
A Wisconsin native, Cindy Stefanek grew up in Middleton on a pre-professional ballet track. After sustaining many injuries, she became incredibly interested in the human body and how she could integrate body, mind, soul, and spirit to heal and strengthen her body. She decided to pursue her love for dance and health at UW-Madison, where she graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Dance and an additional major in Health Promotion and Health Equity.
It was at UW-Madison that Cindy fell in love with Pilates and the deep muscular connections that she discovered. She completed her certification in Fall 2022 from UW-Madison, where she studied under Collette Stewart, Kelsey Macomber, and Liz Sexe. Outside of UW-Madison, Cindy has a certificate in Sports Nutrition from AFPA. She is passionate about exploring how the body heals through movement and how movement increases self-confidence and self-efficacy, thus providing joy.
She approaches Pilates from an athletic lens to build strength, endurance, stamina, and perseverance in conjunction with postural alignment and functional movement. In teaching, Cindy looks for the interactions between the different parts of the body and how they affect each other. Integrating her dance knowledge, she creates a dynamic class that challenges her clients, creates a supportive but productive environment, all while being adaptive to her clients’ needs.
